Wooden trophies
FAQ about Wooden trophies
How can I verify the sustainability of the wooden trophy I purchase?
Every unit includes an eco-label with a quantitative breakdown of the environmental impact saved.
What customisation options are available for wooden trophies?
Customisation is carried out through engraving or UV printing, applied to FSC beech wood with a polished surface.
Engraving delivers a sharp and permanent result. UV printing allows colour to be incorporated, although the natural texture and absorption of beech wood may reduce definition on very fine elements or photographic compositions.
For this reason we recommend clean graphics, clear lines and highly legible typefaces, to ensure accurate readability on the wooden surface.
What material do you use to manufacture your wooden trophies?
We use FSC-certified beech wood.
We selected it for its stable density, its low presence of knots and its predictable behaviour during machining.
It comes from European suppliers with full traceability, ensuring consistency in tone, grain and moisture levels.
What process does the wood used in the trophies undergo?
The FSC beech wood we use goes through a controlled process to guarantee stability, precision and uniformity in every piece:
Kiln drying to 8–12% moisture content to prevent warping and internal stress during milling.
Manual selection of straight slats, free of visible knots and with a homogeneous grain.
CNC machining in local workshops with a maximum tolerance of ±1 mm.
Manual finishing and adjustment of each block to stabilise edges and ensure a continuous surface.
This process guarantees a technically stable wooden base, consistent with the level of precision required for the graphic customisation of our FSC wooden trophies, maintaining regularity in shape, surface and behaviour throughout the entire production run.
What does "FSC beech wood" actually mean?
The FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification indicates that the wood comes from forests managed under criteria of environmental and social responsibility, with full chain-of-custody control.
Controlled origin: registered batches with no mixing of non-certified wood.
Full traceability: every piece can be tracked from the European supplier to the workshop.
Consistent quality: uniform grain, medium-high hardness (≈720 kg/m³) and low variability in tone.
For us, this certification is an additional requirement —not the central argument— within a process where material quality, machining precision and aesthetic coherence with the brand take precedence in our wooden trophies.
What wooden trophy designs do you offer and how do they differ by model?
All our trophies consist of a wooden base and a % recycled steel plate.
When we refer to wooden trophies, we mean models whose base is made entirely from FSC beech wood, with varying dimensions and proportions depending on the design.
Some models, such as the PAI PAI Award Plaque, feature a minimal cylindrical base where the focus falls on the engraved metal plate.
Others, such as the GEM Plaque, balance wood and metal visually in equal proportions.
In models such as the BIS Totem or the LOG Totem, wood is the primary material, with a rectangular format.
You can explore the different models in our collection. If you cannot find what you need, contact us to discuss a specific proposal.
What advantages does wood offer over other materials in trophy manufacturing?
From a technical standpoint, beech wood provides a dense and stable structure —around 700 kg/m³— that enables clean milling, tight tolerances and consistent surfaces for applying customisation.
In terms of presence, wood offers a neutral and understated base, well suited to events where a recognisable material is sought, with clear graphic readability and without synthetic coatings that would distort its appearance.
What material is the plate on which the customisation is applied made of?
In our wooden trophies, as throughout the rest of our catalogue, we use a steel plate with a recycled content percentage, finished with water-based paint free of toxic substances.
On this surface we apply customisation through laser engraving or full-colour UV printing, depending on the design requirements.
